Job Description

 

 

Position Summary: 

 

A Food
Server’s primary responsibility is to serve guests in a quick, efficient and
courteous manner, in accordance with all Company standards, policies and
procedures, including, but not limited to:
taking and inputting accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring prompt
delivery of hot food and all beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
Food Servers must possess an ability to read
guests and make suggestive sales and upsells accordingly with emphasis on nightly,
weekly and monthly features.
They must
also possess knowledge of all casino wide features and promotions to be able to
assist their guests with any questions.
 

 

 Duties and Responsibilities:

 
     
  •  
 

Ensure
cleanliness of the tables and maintain their overall appearance.
Responsible for removal of excess tableware
and continuing table maintenance at all times, including, but not limited to
dinner plates, flatware, beverage glasses, coffee mugs and dessert dishes.

 
     
  •  
 

Responsible
for practicing, supporting and promoting Gun Lake Casino’s company-wide culture
and “Unsurpassed Service” standards at all times.

 
     
  •  
 

Must
have a detailed knowledge of the menu, features, specials, beverages and
preparation of food and prices.

 
     
  •  
 

Must
have a detailed knowledge of suggestive selling techniques and upselling
techniques.

 
     
  •  
 

Observe
and anticipate guests’ needs, keeping beverages filled throughout their meals.

 
     
  •  
 

Present
check for payment in a timely manner after their meal.
Then assisting the guest with tendering of
the check, return promptly.

 
     
  •  
 

Monitor
the cleanliness of assigned station including floors and assist in keeping the
area free of debris.

 
     
  •  
 

Behave
in a positive, professional manner that reflects “Unsurpassed Service”
practices.

 
     
  •  
 

Inform
manager on duty of any Team Member or Guest opportunities.

 
     
  •  
 

Maintain
“Unsurpassed Service” personal grooming and uniform standards pursuant to the
Company’s policies.

 
     
  •  
 

Practice
and observe safety rules and regulations and encourage others to do so.

 
     
  •  
 

Inform
immediate supervisor of any product shortages and equipment needs.

 
     
  •  
 

Complete
assigned side-work and any additional tasks with and “Unsurpassed Service”
manner of teamwork.

 
     
  •  
 

Know
where the SDS booklet is located for your area.

 
     
  •  
 

Display
knowledge of all emergency procedures.
 

 

  

 

Essential Qualifications:

 
     
  •  
 

Prefer
one (1) year of experience in a fast-paced, high volume, high energy guest
service oriented restaurant preferred.

 
     
  •  
 

Ability
to lift and carry full trays up to 50 lbs.
 

 
     
  •  
 

Ability
to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both
written and verbal form.

 
     
  •  
 

Must
manage time effectively with minimum supervision.

 
     
  •  
 

Ability
to demonstrate sound judgement and mature decision-making.

 
     
  •  
 

Must
be able to obtain required work cards for the jurisdiction in which the
property is located.

 
     
  •  
 

Adhere
to all Company and department policies and procedures as well as all
“Unsurpassed Service” practices.

 
     
  •  
 

Must
be able to handle a flexible schedule.

 
     
  •  
 

Adhere
to all cash and comp handling procedures in accordance with Gun Lake Casino’s
policies and procedures.
 

 

Physical Requirements:

 
     
  •  
 

Requires
normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to
distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.

 
     
  •  
 

Ability
to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.

 
     
  •  
 

Ability
to stand for duration of shift, bend and reach a height of 6 ft.
  

 

Work Conditions: 

 

Work is
typically in an area which may be unusually hot, cold and/or noisy and may
contain second-hand smoke.
Work may be
performed in small areas with a 3 ft. wide access.
Tasks performed from a non-sitting
position.
Team Members will be required
to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull and grasp.
These tasks include the maintenance and care
of assigned area.
Work may entail
trained chemical usage.
Constant contact
with fellow Team Members.
