We offer a great place to work in a dynamic and diverse environment. Currently we are recruiting for Legal Intern – International for our regional headquarters in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands.

SUMMARY
The purpose of this position will be to support the International legal team with, amongst other things corporate governance and compliance.
This position will involve contact with team members across the globe and at all levels of the organization. This position is based in our JLG EMEA office located in Hoofddorp and reports to the Director & Associate General Counsel – International.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To support the legal function with corporate governance across EMEA and with global compliance matters. This includes assisting with day to day matters related to our legal entities in Europe and beyond, and all aspects of our company’s code of conduct and other regulatory frameworks.

BASIC REQUIRMENTS
  • Law studies at an internationally well reputed university,
  • Demonstrable interest in the international business legal environment through study or work experience,
  • Familiarity with Corporate law and European law principles,
  • Understanding of compliance and/or regulatory frameworks such as FCPA, UK Bribery Act, GDPR etc. and how they impact companies,
  • Fluency in English. Familiarity with Dutch or any other language is a plus,
  • Proficiency with MS Word.

PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Proficiency with MS PowerPoint and Excel,
  • Desire to work in a fast paced, commercial environment, where the customer comes first,
  • Attention to detail: thoroughness in accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas involved; double-checks the accuracy of information and work product to provide accurate and consistent work; proactively ensures that things be done right, thoroughly, or precisely; completes all work according to procedures and standards,
  • Communication: listens to others; speaks and writes clearly, efficiently and effectively; ability to match communication style to the audience; effectively communicates with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures;
  • Planning and Organization: Ability to support and manage legal work in a confidential, orderly and accurate manner; shows initiative and provides good follow-up on areas of responsibility.
  • Available 32 to 40 hours per week.
